Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP), West Bretton, Wakefield, WF4 2AH, is internationally known for its sculpture in the environment of the Bretton Country Park. High quality exhibitions include sculpture in the landscape, but also exhibitions of artists' drawings, paintings, and maquettes.

Secret 7 at Somerset House

April to May 2015

Each year Secret 7” take an iconic track from seven legendary musicians and press each one 100 times to vinyl. Each record receives a one-of-a-kind sleeve, as designed by 700 creatives, which will be displayed in a month-long exhibition.

Local artist, Lisa V Robinson, based in Westgate Studios, Wakefield, currently has a sleeve in the Secret 7 exhibition.

Lisa aims to "push the boundaries of painting beyond two dimensions, by creating a fictional space within the canvas." (read more...)





Ferens Art Gallery

As well as a regular programme of events, the Hull gallery's permanent collection of paintings and sculpture spans artistic periods from medieval times to the present day. The collection includes European Old Masters, portraiture, marine paintings, and modern and contemporary British art. Highlights include masterpieces by Frans Hals, Antonio Canaletto, Stanley Spencer, David Hockney, Helen Chadwick and Gillian Wearing.
